NEWS ROUNDUP

DEVELOPMENT: Yorkville, Wisconsin considers backup data center proposal. Local leaders in Yorkville, Wisconsin, are set to discuss a proposed backup data center during a joint meeting of the Yorkville Village Board and Plan Commission following outreach from a real estate broker suggesting Microsoft interest. Microsoft previously dropped plans for a backup data center in Caledonia, Wisconsin, after community opposition, including a petition signed by nearly 2,000 residents.

DEVELOPMENT: Atlas Agro plans 350MW campus. Atlas Agro North America has secured a $250,000 option to buy 275 acres in north Richland, Washington, as it evaluates building a 350MW AI data center cluster adjacent to its proposed Pacific Green Fertilizer Plant.

ENERGY: Google reopens Iowa nuclear plant. Google plans to help reopen Iowa’s Duane Arnold nuclear plant to power its expanding data centers, despite the facility’s history of severe storm damage.
