PARTNERSHIP: TerraPower and Sabey create partnership to invest in Natrium-powered data centers. TerraPower has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sabey Data Centers to explore using Natrium nuclear technology to support the growing energy demands of data centers. Under the agreement, future Natrium plants could be developed across the Rocky Mountain region and Texas to provide reliable, clean energy to SDC’s expanding operations. “The energy sector is transforming at an unprecedented pace after decades of business as usual, and meaningful progress will require strategic collaboration across industries,” said Chris Levesque, President and CEO of TerraPower.

EXPANSION: JLL launches energy & sustainability advisory practice. Global real estate firm JLL has launched an energy advisory and sustainability practice to expand its services in the sustainability and energy markets. The new division will be led by Josephine Tucker, who will provide energy-focused solutions to real estate investors, commercial clients, and the public sector. The practice will offer end-to-end services, including energy sourcing, efficiency strategies, and technology integration such as EV charging and microgrids.

DEVELOPMENT: Nadia unveils Beacon AI. Beacon AI Center, originated by Nadia Partners, has officially launched, unveiling its mission to redefine hyperscaler digital infrastructure with an energy-first approach. The company aims to address power and efficiency bottlenecks in North America's data center market. Beacon plans to bring 1.8 GW of capacity online for hyperscalers, with a total development pipeline of 3.8 GW. The company is currently developing AI data center shell facilities across Alberta, set to be operational by 2027. Joseph Shovlin of Nadia Partners has spearheaded the initiative.

DEVELOPMENT: Northpoint planning 15-building campus in Pennsylvania. NorthPoint Development is set to present plans for Project Hazelnut, a 1,283-acre, 15-building data center campus in Hazle Township, Pennsylvania. Planned within the 3,000-acre Humboldt North Industrial Park, the development will be built in three phases. Construction on the first five buildings is expected to begin in Q4 2026, followed by three more buildings in Q1 2028, and the final seven in Q2 2029. Further details on the project have yet to be disclosed.

PEOPLE MOVES: Applied Digital appoints new COO. Applied Digital Corporation has appointed Laura Laltrello as the company’s new COO. Laltrello will oversee day-to-day operations and work closely with the leadership team to execute the company’s strategic vision as it expands its role in AI-driven digital infrastructure. “We are pleased to welcome Laura as we expand our Applied Digital leadership team with a focus on dedicated skills and expertise to complement our existing strengths and drive innovation across all areas of our business,” said Wes Cummins, Chairman and CEO of Applied Digital.
