NEWS ROUNDUP

ACQUISITION: Cloud Capital and Arcapita acquire 21MW Minneapolis data center. Cloud Capital, in partnership with Arcapita, has acquired a 21MW data center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with plans to expand capacity to 31MW. Shariar Mohajer, President and Chief Investment Officer of Cloud Capital, said the acquisition offers immediate income with meaningful upside, while Kristin Leung, Managing Director and Head of North America Investments, highlighted the downside-protected return profile supported by stabilized capacity and expansion potential. Martin Tan, Chief Investment Officer of Arcapita, said the investment aligns with the firm’s US real estate strategy and provides exposure to a mission-critical AI-focused asset.

DEVELOPMENT: CyrusOne and Eolian partner to accelerate Fort Worth deployment. CyrusOne and Eolian have announced a collaborative infrastructure deployment for a new data center campus under construction in Fort Worth, Texas. Eric Schwartz, CEO of CyrusOne, said the partnership allows the company to deliver capacity beginning in 2026 by creatively utilizing existing infrastructure, while Aaron Zubaty, CEO of Eolian, said the project demonstrates how efficient use of existing grid assets can support hyperscale growth without duplicating transmission or industrial facilities.

EXPANSION: LightHouse and Wharton launch hyperscale data center platform. LightHouse Data Centers and Wharton Equity Partners have launched a fully integrated platform to develop, own, and operate hyperscale data centers across North America. Peter C. Lewis, Founder of Wharton Equity Partners, was appointed Chairman of LightHouse. Nick Etscheid, co-founder and CEO of LightHouse, and Ben Basson, co-founder and Chief Development Officer, said the platform is positioned to deliver multiple data center campuses beginning in late 2026 and early 2027, supported by roughly 300MW of near-term power capacity and more than 2GW in active development across key US growth markets.

PEOPLE MOVES: CyrusOne appoints new Chief Business Officer. CyrusOne has appointed Robert Johnson as Chief Business Officer, tasking him with overseeing the performance and operations of the company’s US data center portfolio.
