ACQUISITION: Cologix acquires 154-acre land. Cologix has acquired 154 acres in Johnstown, OH, approximately 25 miles northeast of Columbus. The company plans to invest $7 billion to develop a data center campus on this site. The proposed campus will feature eight AI-ready data centers with a combined capacity of 800 MW of scalable power, encompassing 2 million square feet of data center space upon completion. "As the largest provider of colocation and interconnection solutions in Columbus, we are thrilled to deepen our investment in Central Ohio” - Laura Ortman, Cologix.

JOINT VENTURE: Provident and PowerHouse to build one of the largest data center campuses in the US. Provident and PowerHouse have announced a joint venture to develop a hyperscale data center campus in Grand Prairie, TX. The project will commence with an initial capacity of approximately 500 MW, with plans to scale up to 1.8 GW upon full build-out. Construction is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2025, with power delivery secured for May 2026. The campus will span 768 acres, making it one of the largest data center developments in the United States. Jack Backes, Principal Strategist at Provident, highlighted the synergy between the two firms, stating, "We were motivated to form this partnership due to Provident’s extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure and deep Texas roots, combined with PowerHouse’s focus on hyperscale solutions.”

DEVELOPMENT: Leeward commences work on 300 MW solar project. Leeward has initiated the construction of a significant solar energy project aimed at bolstering renewable energy supply for Google's data center in Pryor, OK. This initiative is part of a broader collaboration between Leeward and Google, encompassing over 700 MW of solar projects in Oklahoma.

DEVELOPMENT: AVAIO reveals plans for $3 billion data center. AVAIO has acquired a 452-acre industrial site in Appomattox County, VA, with plans to transform it into a $3 billion data center campus. The site is fully zoned for data center use and ready for construction. AVAIO intends to utilize 300 MW of power from public utilities Central Virginia Electric Cooperative (CVEC) and Dominion Energy, incorporating substantial onsite green power to enhance sustainability.

ENERGY: Oklo and RPower plan to deploy nuclear and natural gas hybrid power model. Oklo has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RPower to implement a phased power model combining natural gas and nuclear energy for data centers. Oklo's Aurora Powerhouse is a fast neutron reactor utilizing metallic fuel, with a capacity ranging from 15 to 50 MW. This design offers a sustainable and efficient energy solution tailored for data center applications. Jacob DeWitte, co-founder and CEO of Oklo, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, "This collaboration aims to ensure that data centers can access reliable energy today while building a clear and practical pathway to clean energy in the future."
