DEVELOPMENT: Hyperscale Data expands Michigan AI data center campus. Hyperscale Data has completed the acquisition of 48.5 acres of land, expanding its Michigan AI Data Center campus to approximately 83 acres. The acquisition more than doubles the size of the campus and provides additional space for future expansion while creating a natural buffer between the facility and surrounding properties. Milton "Todd" Ault III, Executive Chairman of Hyperscale Data, said the expanded site strengthens the company's long-term development plans and enhances its ability to grow service offerings following the recently announced master services agreement.

DEVELOPMENT: QTS-linked entity acquires site for $14.5B Alabama campus. An entity linked to QTS Data Centers, RSTL, has acquired approximately 1,607 acres in Bessemer, Alabama, for $431.7 million, securing the site for the planned Project Marvel hyperscale data center campus. The project is expected to represent a $14.5 billion investment, with plans for 18 data center buildings totaling 1.2GW of capacity, creating an estimated 350 permanent jobs with an average salary of $115,000 and approximately 1,000 construction jobs during the project's seven- to eight-year buildout.

PEOPLE MOVES: Vantage Data Centers promotes Michael Stoner to CDO for North America. Vantage Data Centers has promoted Michael Stoner to Chief Development Officer for North America, where he will oversee site selection, energy strategy and procurement, market development, campus readiness, and preconstruction as the company expands its hyperscale data center platform. Dana Adams, President of North America at Vantage Data Centers, said Stoner has been instrumental in building the company's development platform over the past decade.

ENERGY: Meta signs solar power agreements to support Texas data centers. Meta has signed long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Sabanci Renewables for 100% of the environmental attributes generated by the 100MWac Lucky 7 Solar and 120MWac Pepper Solar projects in Texas. Combined, the agreements will provide 220MWac (286MWdc) of renewable energy capacity, with both projects expected to come online in the second half of 2027. Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu, Strategic Investments and Operations President at Sabanci Group, said the deal represents a key milestone in the company's U.S. expansion, while Amanda Yang, Head of Clean and Renewable Energy at Meta, said the agreement supports the addition of new renewable capacity to the Texas grid.
