NEWS ROUNDUP

DEVELOPMENT: Aligned Data Centers plans 916,000-SF campus in Arizona. Aligned Data Centers is planning a new two-building data center campus in Peoria, Arizona, totaling approximately 916,000 square feet. Aligned acquired the property for $43.2 million in October 2024 and submitted a site plan review application to the city in March, which has completed its first review cycle.

DEVELOPMENT: Legacy plans 50MW data center in Texas. Legacy has announced plans for a new 50MW data center development in Marion, Guadalupe County, Texas. The project will sit on a 39-acre site and include more than 100,000 square feet of data hall space within approximately 243,000 square feet of total building area, with potential expansion capacity of up to 150MW. The facility is being designed to support AI inference workloads with direct-to-chip cooling, closed chilled water loops, and flexible infrastructure for tenant density, cooling, and redundancy needs. The project is currently under development and expected to be ready for service in Q4 2027.

DEVELOPMENT: 600,000-SF data center proposed in Florida. A proposed project known as Project Swan could bring a 600,000-square-foot hyperscale data center campus to Lakeland, Florida. Submitted by Kimley-Horn on behalf of Ryan Companies U.S. Inc., the concept plan calls for three data center buildings, large mechanical yards, stormwater ponds, and a 3.8-acre electrical substation on a 60.5-acre site near Old Tampa Highway and Wilkinson Road.

SOLAR: Enbridge invests $1.2 billion in Wyoming solar and storage project. Enbridge is moving forward with the first phase of the Cowboy Project, a $1.2 billion clean energy development near Cheyenne, Wyoming, designed to support Meta’s data center operations. The project will pair 365MW of solar capacity with a 200MW / 1,600MWh battery storage system, with service expected to begin in late 2027. Allen Capps, Enbridge’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and President of Power, said the project builds on Enbridge’s relationship with Meta and will provide scalable energy solutions while strengthening grid performance. The deal brings Enbridge and Meta’s contracted capacity in North America to about 1.6GW.
