NEWS ROUNDUP

DISPOSITION: TA Realty sells two hyperscale data centers. TA Realty and its development arm, TA Digital Group, have sold two hyperscale data center buildings in Leesburg, Virginia, totaling 745,000 square feet and 165 megawatts of IT load capacity. Allison O’Rourke and Tim Shaheen, partners at TA Realty, said the sale marks an important milestone and reflects the firm’s strategy of developing build-to-suit facilities for hyperscale customers in Tier 1 U.S. markets and selling them once stabilized.

DEVELOPMENT: Serverfarm seeks to redevelop office site into data centers. Serverfarm is planning to redevelop the Tysons Technology Center in Tysons Corner, Virginia, into a two-building data center project called Vienna Cloud.

DEVELOPMENT: Google receives approval for Oklahoma data center. The Sand Springs City Council voted to approve Project Spring, a proposed Google-backed data center campus on an 827-acre site near Tulsa, Oklahoma,

 

DEVELOPMENT: Amp Z plans 2.1GW campus in Texas. Amp Z is planning a massive data center campus in East Texas, with rights to purchase roughly 1,041 acres at the former Southland Paper Mill site outside Lufkin in Angelina County. Verdant Industries and Verdant Industries Realty granted Amp Z Champion Data Center Holdings the option to buy the land, where Amp Z’s Project LufKin is expected to start with a 55MW grid connection through an existing substation, grow to 175MW in 2026, and reach 1.1GW of grid power by 2028, with another 1GW of self-generation capacity targeted by 2029.
