DEVELOPMENT: Aligned expands DFW footprint. Aligned Data Centers has announced the expansion of its presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro Area with the development of a new data center campus in Mansfield, Texas. The facility, known as DFW-03, will be built on a 27-acre site with an on-site substation.The initial capacity is expected to be available by the fourth quarter of 2025. "The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex provides the ideal foundation for Aligned's continued expansion," said Andrew Schaap, CEO of Aligned.

DEVELOPMENT: Meta buys more Rosemount land for data centers. Meta has acquired two parcels of land in Rosemount, Minnesota, for a total of $70 million, signaling plans for a potential data center development in the area. The purchase was made through Jimnist, a Delaware-based subsidiary of Meta. The two properties were sold by RGA Holdings and RADS Land Company both linked to Ames Construction. One parcel was acquired for $26.68 million, while the other sold for $43.32 million.

ACQUISITION: Overwatch acquires 150,000-SF data center in Texas. Overwatch Capital has acquired a ±150,000-SF data center facility in Plano, Texas. Branded as Resilience DFW, the high-density facility will be powered by a clean energy microgrid and designed to meet the growing demand for low-latency, high-performance computing. The newly acquired site will initially support 30 MW of capacity, with future scalability up to 50 MW by integrating both grid power and microgrid technology. “Our acquisition of this premier data center facility underscores Overwatch Capital’s dedication to advancing high-density data center capabilities while minimizing environmental impact,” said Sean P. Lyle, Managing Partner at Overwatch Capital.

LEASE SIGNED: Core Scientific leases Alabama data center.Core Scientific is expanding its data center operations into Alabama with a new facility in Auburn, located within the existing AUBix data center. The site will launch with an initial capacity of 16MW, with the potential for future expansion. As part of the deal, Core Scientific has leased the AUBix facility, taken over operations, and plans to execute an option to purchase the property. The company has retained the site’s 11 full-time employees and intends to expand the workforce to at least 20. The investment in the Auburn facility is expected to exceed $400 million, with an initial commitment of $135 million. “Auburn represents an exciting new chapter for Core Scientific as we establish our presence in Alabama,” said Adam Sullivan, Core Scientific CEO.

ENERGY: Hyperscale Data to 10X Michigan data center power capacity. Hyperscale Data has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Alliance Cloud Services, has reached an agreement in principle with a local utility to increase power capacity at its Michigan data center from 30 MW to 300 MW. The full power upgrade is expected to take approximately 44 months from the execution of a formal LOA which is currently being negotiated.
