DEVELOPMENT: CyrusOne tops out first building at Texas campus. CyrusOne has topped out the first building at its new Bosque County, Texas, data center campus. The company said about 650 workers have contributed roughly 450,000 man-hours to the project so far without incident. CyrusOne formally announced the campus in July 2025 next to Calpine Corporation’s Thad Hill Energy Center. The first facility, DFW10, is a planned $750 million, 250,000-square-foot single-story data center, while a second building, DFW11, is set to be an $400 million, 88,875-square-foot facility. Initial fit-out of those two buildings is expected in October 2026 and August 2027, respectively.

DEVELOPMENT: Penzance commits $4 billion to West Virginia project. Penzance plans to invest $4 billion to build a major data center campus in Berkeley County, West Virginia, with the project expected to total about 1.9 million square feet and 600 megawatts of critical IT capacity at full buildout. Victor Tolkan, managing partner and founder of Penzance, said the company chose the state because of its business-friendly regulatory environment and energy policies.

DEVELOPMENT: Colossus withdraws proposed 316-acre Kansas project. Colossus Data Center Advisors has withdrawn its proposal to develop a 316-acre data center campus in Spring Hill, Kansas. Colossus Data Center Advisors was founded in March 2024 by Jake Wagner and Dillon Zahler, both of whom have prior experience in the data center industry, including roles at JLL, StratCap, Evoque, and Worldwide Mission Critical.

DEVELOPMENT: Data center developer buys land in Virginia. The Danville-Pittsylvania Regional Industrial Facility Authority has unanimously approved an agreement to sell property at the Southern Virginia Megasite at Berry Hill to SAC III Acquisition. The property reportedly shares an address with Denver-based Stack Infrastructure, a global data center developer and operator that has described itself as the largest private data center developer in Virginia. According to meeting materials, the land is priced at $238,000 per acre, and the authority is also expected to consider a separate local performance agreement with the company.
