NEWS ROUNDUP

ACQUISITION: H5 Data Centers acquires three data centers. H5 Data Centers has acquired three highly interconnected data center facilities from 365 Data Centers. Josh Simms, CEO of H5 Data Centers, said the assets align with the company’s focus on operating facilities that support carrier networks, digital content distribution, and next-generation AI and cloud infrastructure. Ted Mocarski, senior partner and head of digital infrastructure at Novacap, said the acquisition fits the firm’s strategy of building a diversified portfolio of high-quality digital infrastructure assets. For 365 Data Centers, the sale enables capital recycling to support expansion and higher-density services at larger facilities. CEO Derek Gillespie said the proceeds will help fund upgrades aimed at serving growing AI and cloud demand, while co-founder Bob DeSantis noted the transaction provides financial flexibility to advance the company’s long-term strategy.

INVESTMENT: Prologis exploring first data center investment fund. Prologis, the world’s largest industrial real estate owner, is exploring the launch of a co-investment vehicle focused on data centers, marking the company’s first fund targeting a sector outside logistics. CFO Tim Arndt said investor interest has been stronger than expected, with the company expected to decide in the coming months whether to proceed and how the fund would be structured.

DEVELOPMENT: Google plans three data centers in Virginia campus. Google plans to build three data center buildings totaling nearly 1 million square feet at its 312-acre campus in the Greenfield industrial park in Botetourt County, Virginia.

SOLAR: Meta signs solar deal for Texas data center. Meta has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with renewable energy developer Zelestra for the full 176-MWDC output of the Skull Creek Solar Plant in Texas. The deal marks the seventh PPA between the two companies, bringing their partnership to roughly 1.2 GWDC of potential solar capacity once all projects are completed. Phil North, U.S. CEO of Zelestra, said the collaboration with Meta is accelerating the deployment of new solar capacity across the country.
