NEWS ROUNDUP

ACQUISITION: Vantage-linked buyer acquires $9.35M data center site in Powhatan, Virginia. Vantage-linked Powhatan Technology Park bought roughly 180 acres on Virginia’s Powhatan–Chesterfield county line for $9.35 million. The land is planned for the $3 billion Powhatan Technology Park campus, with approvals allowing up to four buildings totaling 2 million square feet. Vantage confirmed the purchase but said it is still evaluating development. Province Group remains involved; CEO Mark Kerslake previously said an unnamed end user was lined up.

DEVELOPMENT: TerraVolt secures options on 1,077 acres for an Idaho data center campus. TerraVolt Holdings signed option agreements to buy 1,077 acres outside Declo in Cassia County, Idaho. Its proposed campus would start with 240MW of dedicated on-site generation, supported by a previously announced natural gas supply agreement for 55,000 MMBtu per day. Chairman and CEO Joel Stone said the options allow the company to advance land-use planning, environmental diligence and permitting. TerraVolt plans to require low-water-use cooling and, after entitlements and civil development, sell building sites to operators with long-term infrastructure services agreements.

DEVELOPMENT: Google evaluates a data center site in Goochland County, Virginia. Google is evaluating a potential data center campus in West Creek Business Park in Goochland County, Virginia. The company is conducting site evaluation and technical due diligence; no purchase has been confirmed and no plans have been submitted. Regional public affairs manager Clay Allsop said Google intends to work transparently with residents and local government as it assesses the opportunity.

ACQUISITION: KDDI and Telehouse buy London expansion site for more than £220M. KDDI and Telehouse acquired the Inventory Estate at East India Dock, London, from LaSalle Investment Management and Trilogy Real Estate for more than £220 million ($294 million). The site adjoins Telehouse’s Docklands campus and has 65MVA of secured power for a planned high-density, AI-ready data center. Telehouse Europe managing director Mark Pestridge said the purchase creates room for expansion; European chief executive Takayo Takamuro said the facility will be among the campus’s largest. LaSalle’s UK transactions head Chris Lewis credited the partners’ refurbishment work with enabling the next phase.
